WELCOME SEPTEMBER GUEST: LEADING CASHMERE DESIGNER; MADELEINE THOMPSON
A childhood divided between Hong Kong and London has resulted in an eclectic set of influences for knitwear designer, Madeleine Thompson. Today, she is just as likely to be found having a cup of tea in her West London Mews as sitting in her Chinese factory chatting away in fluent Cantonese. These two different worlds have resulted in a fashion aesthetic that is truly modern & exciting. And at the junction of East and West is California, and it’s modern lifestyle that makes her brand visually so unique.
It all began with a beanie, we wanted proper quality cashmere in contemporary shapes and it started with a slouchy beanie in the softest cashmere. Maddie's everyday focus is to make beautiful top quality cashmere and show that it can be playful, cool, contemporary, elegant but always simple and chic.
“I like to experiment with different textures and of utmost importance of course, is the feel of the fabric against the skin. Being comfortable is something that I put huge emphasis on as a designer”.
Maddie believes that her beautiful cashmere adds to every outfit and can be casual and dressy but always very chic; her designs hold up to all tastes and become the style of whoever is wearing them.
