THE KIMONO DRESS TREND

Summer dress Trend

I don’t know about you, but I’m a SUMMER child. If I could choose then I would love to have summer 365 days of the year, not to much to ask is it? It’s just so much easier when it comes to the daily question: what shall I wear today? Don’t you agree?

In warm weather I always come back to dresses. From mini dresses, midi dresses to floaty maxi dresses - there are styles for everyone.

When it comes to my summer wardrobe I tend to look for wide and floaty dresses. To keep me cool during the hot days in London. A few weeks back I walked into and other stories together with Sara to find some clothes for our shoot with street style photographer Lydia Collins. I remember it was a particularly hot and sticky London summer day. And therefore I wasn’t in the mood for shopping at all. However, once the air conditioning hit me in the shop I looked at the mannequins and spotted a long green kimono style dress and knew straight away that this is the one. We’ve all been there ;).

I bought it without trying it on, once home I styled it with a black belt and there you go - its now my new fav piece. A few days later we met up with Lydia, who wanted to shoot with us in two different restaurants. The first location was By Chloe in Covent Garden - a vegan-friendly restaurant with amazing interior design including swinging chairs.

I was wearing the green dress styled with a black leather belt, small gold hoop earrings and my pale orange espadrilles by miista.

Sara choose a mid-length dress with a cute cherry print and Zsanett wore a lovely short yellow dress with a big pattern and some slippers, see pictures below. We are super happy with the final images and can’t wait to share all the pictures from the second location with you.

The sun is still out, we’d love to hear your favourite style of summer dresses. Just leave a comment below.

xx Annabell

BY CHLOE

Such a great choice of location from Lydia. The By Chloe restaurant has full height windows all the way down one side, flooding the restaurant with lots of daylight - perfect for some lovely lifestyle shots.
