Hi everyone, it is me again! For people who don’t know me, my name is Reve, a current London based Makeup and Hair Artist.
Something super exciting happened just right before I wrote this post. Something BIG! But for now I cannot tell yet. Keep an eye on my instagram and you will know.

Last time we were talking about my life in Tokyo, so this time we are coming back to Europe. I am going to tell you about my experiences in Milan and London. After that will be my pick of the beauty look for evening from SS18 fashion week. Enjoy, everyone!

I went to Milan not very long after I moved away from Tokyo. It was supposed to be a 1 month trip and I ended up living there for 1 year.

As a makeup artist/hair stylist in Asia, It’s always been my dream to work in Europe as we all know it is the centre of the Fashion World.

You must be curious about how this one month trip turned into a one year stay. Not very long after I arrived Milan-it was actually the first time ever in my life stepping out of Asia. I started to contact everyone I knew in town to introduce me to different people in the industry as I really wanted to at least do some photoshoot during my one month trip. Soon I got a contact from one of my very good friend. This contact is a booker from one of the biggest agency in Milan. We arranged a meeting and after seeing my work, she asked me if I am interested to work for Fashion Week. Of course I said YES.  But after I received the schedule of the fashion week, I realised the first show I had was on the date when I would have to take my flight back to Hong Kong. I had to make a decision if I wanted to stay for the fashion week, I wouldn’t be able to go back to Hong Kong because I almost spent all my saving for this 1 month holiday, which means if I chose to stay, I had to stay for so much longer than I expected and I would have had to earn money for my ticket back. But the decision was easy, I chose my dream.

I have heard a lot about London during the stay in Milan, a lot of good things. I went to London for a few times while I was living in Milan. London seems like a very busy city compare to Milan. A very different city, fully of people from other countries looking for opportunities, full of energy and people who live in London seems to never have a break (one of the reason I love Milan is because I could always found a short 30 mins to sit down at a bar enjoy a coffee under the Sunshine). Milan for me was a very good start of Europe. The year that I spend in Milan seems to have reset my life. I enjoyed it a lot, probably because I had never been living in such a relaxing city in my life.

I decided to move on. I moved to London. I felt like I have come back to the reality from a dream. London is a place full of competitions. Everyone is fighting for what they want. Here you can find every different style of Fashion, from Underground, Punk, Funky to Classic, Elegant, High Fashion.
London is a city that combines a lot of different cultures. Compare to London, Milan is a less exciting place. Their fashion is Classic, Elegant, everything is very clean and always beautiful and a little bit sexy.

So my pick of the beauty look for day time from SS18 fashion week is TOPSHOP! I picked this look because it is sooooo beautiful, full of energy and young! It is just perfect for whatever situation in the evening.

Here is some tips about how to achieve this look.
First of all I would do my skin care routine and the same back makeup as I have done last week when I explained the makeup look of Self Portrait SS18. For those who missed it last week, please check it out! :)

And then I add extra glow on the cheek bone, nose bridge, and on top of the upper lips with Mac - Cream Colour Base - Pearl. I love this product because it is just sooo sheer that leave nothing on the skin but GLOW while most of the other highlight has glitter in them which would show in photograph.

Mac - eye brows.jpg

For the eyebrow I keep them natural this time because Zsanett has beautiful eyebrows. But when I need to fill in some colour for the shape or missing brows, I love to use Mac - Eye Brows.
They have the perfect softness and colour for creating the most perfect natural eye brows. For
blonde hair the shade “Fling” for light brown to medium brown hair I recommend the shade “Brunette” and for black hair, the shade “Stud” will definitely make no mistakes.:)

For the eye shadow, I used 3 shades from my Urban Decay Naked Heat Eye Shadow Palette and I have to say this is one of my favourite eye shadow palettes ever. I love their warm colours, it look gorgeous on most skin tones. For Zsanett, I first mixed the colour Lumbre (copper shimmer w/ gold pearl shift) and He Devil (burnt red matte) in the eyehole area and at the under eye corners.
And to create more dramatic effect, I used Ashes (deep reddish-brown matte) on the upper eye corners for the darker shades.

PRO Lip Palette _ 6 Modern Browns.jpg

Surprisingly, a lot of people do not know how to put glitter and make them stay on the eye. Instead of glue, I usually use lip balm to mix with the glitter before applying on to the eyelids. I always buy glitter from the art store in stead of any cosmetics brands because you can usually find something with good quality with less than 1/4 of the price.

In stead of the same natural colour as you could see from the reference photo. I actually changed a little bit of the lips colour with Mac - PRO Lip Palette / 6 Modern Browns. I love all the colours in this palette and most of the time, I survive different situations with just this Lip Palette because of it natural to elegant range of colour choices. If you are on budget or want to safe space in your hand bag, this is a must have for you. For Zsanett, I chose to mix the colours Half N’ Half and Taupe to give a hint of elegancy but not losing the freshness of this young beauty.
