PARISIAN CHIC STREET STYLE - THE BERET
As like the French women often, I do like to wear a lot of black and grey clothes in winter. However I try to add some colour to my outfits with colourful accessories like beanies, jewellery, scarfs or a hat. The other day I posted about THIS SEASONS MUST HAVE; THE TRENDY FIDDLER CAP
Which quickly become my all time accessory when I just have a `bad hair day` for example ;).
A few weeks ago I went for a few days to Berlin and on one day I decided to browse through the famous KADEWE (Kaufhaus des Westens), which is a big department store. I thought it would be fun to try out different hats and beanies to see if there is something I really like. So I found a pile of berets in beautiful pale colours. I’ve seen those French hats recently a lot on Instagram often in red or black, and since then I wanted to find out if they would also suit me. I ended up trying on lots of different colours and in the end I decided to go for a lovely light blue beret which wasn’t even expensive! 20€ that was all for a good quality hat made of new wool. I thought that’s such a bargain, seeing I was in a very expensive department store and I assumed that everything would be just too pricey.
HOW TO WEAR IT?
I still don't have a definitive answer to how you should wear a beret —does it go forward? Pulled back, so you can see your hairline? To one side maybe? Who knows. I certainly not 100% sure how to wear a beret but I just gave it a go.
I wanted to wear something classic, so I looked through my wardrobe and found a short sleeved high neck blouse from Topshop - which I bought last summer. Clearly it was too cold to just wear the blouse by itself so I put on my lovely dark grey cashmere jumper from Brandy Melville to keep me warm in these windy winter days here in London. As well as my beloved oversize coat from Mango. :) I hope I gave you some inspiration to add some colour to your winter wardrobe with some Parisian chic. xx Annabell
