EYELASH EXTENSIONS VS EYELASH SEMI-PERM

I (Sara) have been wanting to test this semi-perm eyelash lift treatment for a while now. Having beautiful long lashes is very much a big trend these days, and lots of girls get the proper extensions put on their natural lash. I did try the lash extension a couple of years back and loved it. I asked to have it very natural and the therapist did it very well :) It did however take a looooong time to put them on, and you have no other choice than just to keep your eyes shut for hours. I am actually a very patient person, but I was struggling with this extension stuff to be honest. I also found it quite difficult to maintain, and being someone who sleeps on the side (or face down) I often woke up with my long lashes poking out in all sort of directions :P Having lash extensions for my work was also not ideal, as some clients and makeup artists want their models to look very natural. And let’s face it, having super long spider lashes does not look very natural….(although mine wasn’t too bad). I also found that once they fell off, my own lashes seemed to be quite damaged :/ So although it looked lovely having nice extended lashes, I decided that I just couldn’t be bothered with it.

But enough about lash extensions, this post is supposed to be all about the semi-perm lash lift treatment! This is a treatment where you curl your own natural lashes, so there is no need for glue or anything fake that will fall off. It is actually quite brilliant :) I have always been told that I have very straight lashes, and not even a good mascara can fix that sometimes :P I have however (apparently) fairly long lashes, which is nice of course but also no good if they just stand out straight! So this curl lift treatment is actually perfect for me and my ‘lash-condition’, hehe!

THE TREATMENT

A beauty salon based in Porsgrunn (Norway) called Mei og Moy kindly invited me to come in and try out this treatment. They have opened a lovely new salon right down by the water, and the rooms are filled with beautiful flowers and décor. So if you live in the Skien/Porsgrunn area and like getting nice beauty treatments from time to time, then I can definitely recommend Mei og Moy! :)

BEFORE AND AFTER

I guess by now you might have already figured out that I was pretty happy with the result. The whole process took about 30-40 minutes, and this was including tinting as well. My lashes are naturally light blonde like my hair, so with no makeup on they are usually more or less invisible. I went for a black-blue semi-permeant colour to make the all over result as visible as possible. The treatment is not painful at all, but it stings a little bit when the chemicals touches the skin-but this is no biggie ;) The curling effect lasts for about 6–8 weeks and it is not damaging for your lashes or eyes. Yay!

I am super happy with the final result and I'm very much looking forward to wearing absolutely no makeup for the next 6 to 8 weeks! Although I might put on a little bit of blusher on my cheeks from time to time, otherwise I look as pale as a ghost and no one wants to see that… :P
