JUICE TIPS FROM OUR GUEST BLOGGER NICOLA

Nicola had so many great tips, and as we didn't want any of it to get lost in a large post, we decided to share a bit of it separately today instead. 

Todays post is all about juices, and who doesn't love a nice and refreshing juice filled with goodness <3 Maybe you feel like having a little break from all of the heavy (and of course amazingly delicious) christmas food, and top up on some much needed nutrients. If so then make sure you read to the very end of this post, where Nicola has shared some of her favourite juice mixes that you can try at home :)  

A juice is always in my bag while on the go or I'll grab one on route.

I've tried many different juice bars in New York and I've found that they are either poor quality, horrible mixes or just way over-priced .

My favorite juice spot is Pressed Juicery. All the juice combos are amazing and not to mention good quality, cold-pressed juice .

I know people are against juices/juicing but if you are having the more veg bases, which I do, then you won't have the downside of possible sugar crashes.

The little bit of fructose from the fruit in some of the veg bases are totally natural so you don't have anything to worry about. More importantly, at the same time eliminating toxins from your body and helping digestion.

I really have noticed a huge change in my skin since juicing. I have at least a juice a day which is preferably green.

These are some of my favourite mixes that you could maybe try at home:

 

CITRUS

  • Aloe Vera
  • Coconut water
  • Cucumbers
  • Lemon
  • Pineapple
  • Refreshing and lots of immune / digestion benefits .

 

ROOTS

  • Apple
  • Carrot
  • Ginger
  • Kale
  • Lemon
  • Parsley
  • Romaine
  • Lettuce

This is probably my favourite juice , maybe doesn't sound so appealing to lots of you but the apple & lemon gives it that sweetness making all those veg more than bearable to drink , very filling and low sugar.

 

GREENS

  • Apple
  • Celery
  • Kale
  • Lemon
  • Parsley
  • Romaine
  • Spinach

Again pretty low in sugar. The apple and lemon out way the veg so it makes it sweet. This is refreshing and enjoyable to drink.

 

COCONUT AND CINAMON

  • Coconut meat
  • Cinnamon  

Little bit of a treat I know but there's actually nothing bad inside it! Although there is no kind of nut milk in this, it has fresh coconut meat which gives it more of a smoothie texture keeping you fuller for longer !
