GIFT IDEAS FOR HER

We have just entered into the very last month of the year, which means that Christmas is well on its way. So how are you getting on with your Christmas presents shopping? If you are still looking for some nice gift ideas for her, then you have come to the right place! We have put together a list of things we think work great as Christmas presents, so now all you have to do is scroll down to see our suggestions. Hope you find it useful :)

BATHROOM LUXURY

Having high quality, nice looking, bottles of hand wash and lotion on your bath room sink is the ultimate sign of luxury. It is one of those little things that makes smart restaurants stand out, and having this in your home is something that will impress your guest (or at least if you had us visiting :P). It is one of those little things that says 'yes, I got my life in order' or at least my hand wash habits in order...  As lovely as these soaps and lotions are, it is not always something that you will justify buying for your self when there are several £1 soaps out there that will also make your hands perfectly clean (just not as nice smelling and soft). Getting this as a present however is the perfect excuse for enjoying some extra every day luxury. So why not treat someone to a nice hand wash set this Christmas :)

We recommend this very lush Vetiver & Lavender set from Plum & Ashby. We love the brown glass bottles, and this fragrance is so very nice. Both the soap and the lotion are not only for the hands, but can also be used for the body, however they are not as visible in the shower as on the sink :P

A BEAUTIFUL ROBE

We love it when we get to relax at home in lounge wear. However, these outfits often includes old pyjamas that has seen far better days and is probably way past its sell by date. Let's be honest, it is these items that often are the comfiest. But comfy doesn't have to mean that the lounge wear need to look scruffy and old. How nice wouldn't it be to be both be comfy and feel like you look rather nice at the same time? :) A nice silk robe will do just that and it is a great thing to be treated to for Christmas. Ok, so a short silk robe might be a bit too cold to lounge in this time of year - but it will also work perfectly thrown over some cute pyjamas pants and a vest top.

This robe here is from Fleur of England, a British lingerie brand who offers a selection of beautiful robes in many different colours, shapes and styles. The photograph is of their Whisky Silk Robe, which is from their newest collection.

COSY & FESTIVE SCENTS

You can never go wrong with a nice scented candle. This is another luxury product for the home, perfect for this dark and cold season. Who doesn't love candles that fills your home with beautiful fragrances!?

IMG_8579.jpg

NEOM is a British company who offers 100% natural products for you home, and offers a lovely selection of scented candles. According to the brand their products will help relieve stress, aid sleep, boost energy and lift your mood. Sounds pretty good, right?

They have some products available at the moment specially for Christmas, also available as part of a gift box set. We recommend this gift box that includes two candles with a festive scent perfect for the season. The candles contains a blend of 25 pure essential oils including pine, myrrh and lime peel. We are actually running an Instagram competition at the moment, where we will be giving this box away to a lucky winner :) Head over to our Instagram page @the4ofus_uk to find out how you can enter.

A SOPHISTICATED FRAGRANCE

The next suggestion on our 'gift guide' is to get her a nice perfume. We know it's a bit risky getting her something new that she hasn't picked out herself. But if you know what sort of scents she likes, then the shop assistance should be able to point you in the right direction :) We are actually sharing a more detailed perfume guide here on the blog sometime next week, so keep an eye out for this if you want some great tips on which perfume to go for. For now though, here are two fragranecs that we are very fond of:

1. ETRO, ManRose. A beautiful fragrance which has both a flowery and spicy scent. The main scents are Turkish rose and geranium, but it also has a touch of spices like Calabrian bergamot, Sichuan pepper and cardamom. It is actually a men's fragrance but we think it has a very feminine touch and can just as well be used by women :)

2. Elizabeth & James, Nirvana White. This fragrance launched in the UK just a few months ago, and is sold exclusively at Harrods. Their Nirvana collection is created by Ashly and Mary Kate -Olsen and includes 6 different scents. We really fell in love with Nirvana White, a perfume that has an alluring floral scent with notes of peony and musk.

UNIQUE JEWELRY

Jewelry is always a god 'go to' for Christmas gifts, but why not try something a little different this year? We recently discovered an Icelandic brand called Aurum, who makes beautiful and unique jewelry inspired by the Icelandic nature. Aurum stands for Ambition, Understanding, Responsibility, Unity and Mindfulness, and all their pieces are handcrafted and made from sterling silver. Aurum incorporates sustainability principles throughout the company‘s operations, such as sourcing only recycled and re-refined precious metals and only buying certified and conflict-free precious stones and diamonds. Also their packaging is made with the environment in mind, and is modelled on Icelandic stones which was found on a beach in West Iceland.

We all have some pieces from their newest collection called Asterias, and this is how its described by their designer:

ASTERIAS collection

"Waves quietly breaking on a forgotten beach in the West fjords. Drops rising above the horizon.

The story of Asterias. Black terrain. Rhythmical waves.

Everlasting cycle of the water that has no beginning and no end."

TONING BODY OIL

A newly discovered 'beauty product love' of ours are body oils! Specially at this time of year, the skin dries out really easily. The combination of being outside in the cold air and then inside where heating is on, is not great for keeping your skin soft and hydrated. So as well as hydrating from within, by drinking lots of water, it is also important to feed your skin with moisture. Oils are rich yet easy to apply, and a great tool to keep your skin nice and soft. We therefor think that this is a great beauty product to give to someone for Christmas.

We really like this toning body oil from REN, which is part of their new Atlantic Kelp and Microalgae collection. One thing that can be annoying with oils is when they don't dry inn properly. As much as we want soft and hydrated skin, it is not great to go around with greasy skin all day long. One of the reasons why we are such big fans of this body oil from REN, is because it does get absorbed into the skin really nicely and therefor doesn't leave you feeling greasy. The oil contains both magnesium and ocean plant extract to help cells re-energise and naturally detoxify.

WELCOME TO OUR DECEMBER GUEST BLOGGER: FELLOW MODEL, VICTORIA SAVORY

IMG_3962.jpg

Welcome to December! :)

This month we'd like to introduce you to an amazing young woman, and fellow model, Victoria Savory. During the month of December, Victoria will discuss some of the high and lows of the Modeling Industry, such as balancing work and education, skinny shaming and standing your ground when it comes to money.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT VICTORIA

Victoria Savory STORM Book.jpg

My modelling career started when I was first scouted at the age of 16 in London. Signed with Storm Model Management I was incredibly blessed to have my first ever editorial with Dazed and Confused. Modelling has given me the amazing opportunity to work with an array of extremely talented photographers, models and stylists. During my gap year I was working full time and travelled to exotic locations such as Tokyo, Paris and New York. This international perspective truly enlightened my understanding of the industry, valuing the dedication, time and effort modelling entails. Whilst studying I was able to work for editorials such as Vogue, Tatler, The Independent and South China Morning Post alongside various campaigns such as for Macy's and participating in the shows at Fashion Week. I was also announced as Model of the week” by the online organisation Models.com. An incredibly proud accomplishment since I was still such a fresh face within the industry.

The growing influence of fashion and culture from my modelling career continued to inspire me also throughout my education. In June I officially graduated from Oxford Brookes University studying Publishing Media joint with Communications, Media and Culture. My interest in fashion journalism has also inspired the curation of my own blog entitled SavorySelects. SavorySelects is a space for models share their bespoke advice and unedited perspective to other models. Featuring a different model every month and a topic of their choice, I hope to create a range of relatable articles to all readers. The blog officially launched in October and I’m so excited to see how it develops in 2018!
